A major problem with the youth of today is that the present educational system focuses on rote learning with very little emphasis on moral values, culture and spirituality. This has resulted in degradation of youth. In fact, many of the youth of today have never heard about the exemplary lives of great personalities like Prahlad Maharaj, Dhruva Maharaj and Ambarish Mahraj !!
This summer camp, dealt with three dimensions of personality: spiritual, professional and cultural. There was systematic study of Bhagavad Gita, mantra meditation, kirtan, to nourish the spiritual values of life and to inculcate values like honesty, gratitude, sense-control etc. There were cultural workshop intended to foster creativity among students and to connect art and music to Krishna.
On the professional front, the IITians shared with them their experiences of facing competition and challenges in life. To enhance professional skills, group discussions, extempore competition, and essay writing competitions were conducted.
'The fees was highly subsidised and the parents wondered how we could manage with such a minimal fee of Rs. 500 which also included transportation !!'
